What is your favourite treatment to offer and why?
Simple eleven's line treatment as it always improves my customers confidence and people often comment on how much younger and happier they look without those pesky lines!
What sets your business apart from other aesthetics businesses in your area?
I am qualified nurse working in an acute nurse practitioner role in my day job so clients can trust that they are in safe hands. Naturiol aesthetics was born through a desire to provide a natural look treatment to woman & men who have lost their confidence through signs of aging.
Experience As A Medical Professional
What is your current role in the NHS?
I have been qualified for 21 years and worked in many roles as a nurse in intensive care, the resuscitation service and currently in the patient at risk team nurse as a nurse practitioner. My current role is educational and clinical.
I am a qualified Advanced Life Suport instructor, anaphylaxis trainer, independent prescriber, non medical referer for x-rays and many other advanced clinical skills such as airway management and arterial blood gas sampling.
How do you believe the skills and knowledge gained through your medical education and background have contributed to your success as an aesthetician?
In all my roles as a nurse my main focus is patient assessment and treatment which is crucial in the role of an aesthetician. The consultation, physical assessment, treatment and evaluation of my work is vital to get right to give my clients the best results possible. Informed consent and shared decision making with your clients is so important. Many of my clients have been treated before but had no idea what medications were used and why plus they were not fully informed of all of the risks to ensure the consent process was correct. I pride myself on a professional and thorough consultation and treat clients to the highest of standards.
Running A Business
What has been the most rewarding aspect of running your own aesthetics business?
Working in the NHS although rewarding is often very stressful and frustrating due to our poor staffing levels. Since Naturiol aesthetics began I have ensured my clients had a long enough appointment that it is never rushed and that is something I really value.
Experience Of Working With Access 2 Aesthetics
Which training program(s) did you complete through Access 2 Aesthetics?
Initially I attended the career open day which was amazing as it empowered me and I knew this was something I could do and make a success of. I booked onto the Foundation botulism toxin course at the open day and then quickly progressed onto the advanced botulism toxin.
How did Access 2 Aesthetics prepare you for your career as an aesthetician?
I left the foundation course knowing exact what to do and knew I had the complete support of Helen, Andrew, Rhiannon and all the other aesthetics nurses/doctors in our support group to guide me along my journey. A2A also provided me the opportunity to link in with nurses that are not independent prescribers with has given me the opportunity to develop another side of my business by becoming a prescriber for other A2A delegates.
In what ways has Access 2 Aesthetics helped you with launching your own business?
During the open day Andrew talked us through his business model, registering the business, logos, websites etc and we were lucky to get business advice through the e learning which was so useful. I felt like a headless chicken with regards to the business side of things as I'm a nurse not a business woman or sales women so this support was invaluable

A2A are a professional fantastic company. I am so glad I chose to train with Helen and have the business development support from Andrew I can't imagine any other company providing such support from a qualified nurse/experienced aesthetic nurse and a business development expert like Andrew

Absolutely, in fact I have recommended them to many of my nursing colleagues who have already booked onto the foundation botulism toxin course.
